Miles Ahead

--An educational experience!  This group consists primarily of Guitar, Upright Bass, and Drums.  Carrying on in the tradition of expressive jazz trailblazers such as Duke Ellington, Antonio Carlos Jobim, John Scofield, and, of course, Miles Davis, the repertoire runs the gamut from "Standard" jazz styles of the 1940s to the soul styles of the 1960s and beyond, with an emphasis on improvisation (solos).  The group can be augmented with saxophone to form a quartet or scaled back to the perfect Guitar/Bass jazz duo for smaller affairs.     (Hear a clip...   )

The Shape Shifters
--A Classic Rock & Pop powerhouse!  This 9-piece band can really cover a lot of ground with its instrumentation, from David Bowie to Chicago, as well as some tunes you forgot you knew.  With 3 horns (Trumpet, Trombone, & Sax), Percussion, Guitar, Bass, Drums, Keyboards, and solid male vocals, this group provides a nice "rise-and-fall" for your evening.  Come see why this is one of Sambuca Houston's favorite bands!

Spare Parts
--...and Broken Hearts, so the song goes.  As the name implies, this group can range anywhere from 2 to 6 pieces, depending on the venue.  As a duo, Spare Parts Unplugged engages the audience with strong male/female vocals accompanied by soothing guitar and percussion.  In its largest format, Spare Parts Deluxe adds Keyboards, Bass, Drums, rich, 3-part male harmonies, soulful female lead vocals, and Sax to turn up the heat and bring the audience to the dance floor.  Unquestionably, the most diverse group in terms of musical "texture".
